We found Mambo curled up in a crate, alone and terrified inside a massive arena adoption event.
When we picked him up and he fell asleep in our arms, we knew he was coming home with us. After a short interview and reference checks, we were officially his dog dads.
Being married for 17 years, we thought we understood love, but Mambo expanded our hearts in ways we never expected. He never barked. Not once. He was gentle, kind, and the sweetest dog we had ever known.
We gave him everything we had. And he gave us everything back.
Mambo was later diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, then an enlarged heart. In 2024, we were devastated when our vet suspected a brain tumor.
He began having seizures and required a complex medication routine—four times a day. Through it all he never changed. Always loving, calm, and friendly.
We said goodbye to Mambo in June, 2025. He was 13 years old. In his final days, we hugged him, spoiled him, and returned some of that unconditional love he had always given us.
AskMambo was born from that love.
We built AskMambo as a smart assistant for every dog parent. We always wished we had 24/7 access to a dog expert so we built AskMambo as a place for instant answers that get more personalized with every conversation you have.
Our mission is to improve the relationship you have with your dog. We’re building a dedicated community for everyone who’s ever loved a dog like family. Because that’s exactly what they are.
